AIR TAXI SERVICE
Grizzly Joe's is a remote Alaskan lodge and easily accessible by boat or by plane. We will
arrange your incoming and outgoing flights. Most flights come in to Anchorage in the late
evening. It will be the guests responsibility to find overnight accommodations in Anchorage and
transportation to Trailridge Air or Regal Air the following morning if this is the case.
The climate in Alaska can change quite dramatically from morning to afternoon to evening. We
suggest layering your clothing so you can adjust easily as the temperature changes. If you fish
from shore or on heavily wooded streams, though the mosquitoes aren't usually too bad, long
sleeves and pants are suggested. You may also wish to bring rain gear. When wearing short
sleeves or shorts be sure to wear sun block. The sun can be deceiving at times. Better to be
protected than sunburned.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS YOU MAY WANT TO BRING
Definately a camera! We have soda pop and bottled water for sale at the lodge. However, we
do not at this time sell beer, liquor or cigarettes. But feel free to bring your own, we'll keep it
cold for you.
We also suggest you bring mosquito spray. Though the warm weather and the breeze help to
keep them at bay, cooler, damp weather conditions seem to bring out the best of them.
Our part of Alaska is in the Alaska Time Zone. So, for example, if you're calling from the east
coast, when it's 8:00 am there it's only 4 am here. If we don't answer your call if you call bright
and early in the morning, please leave a message. We'll call you back as soon as we can.
Fish Creek Lodge, as most lodges are generator powered. Bring cell phone chargers, electric
razor chargers etc. as they can be charged when the generator is powered up. Other electronic
devices will be limited to the 'powered up' time frame.
